Stir It Up Girls, our core program is intended to educate, inspire, hold accountable and prepare girls for productive giving and successful lives in their journey to womanhood.

Shirley Chisholm - Forever Stamp

The Shirley Chisholm Black Heritage Forever Stamp went on sale January 31, 2014 at Post Offices nationwide.

Shirley Chisholm was the first African-American woman elected to Congress, and in 1972 was the first African-American woman and the second woman to seek the presidential nomination of a major political party. Her campaign motto was "Unbought and Unbossed.

The stamp is part of the U.S. Postal Service’s Black Heritage Series, which began in 1978 and includes: Sojourner Truth, Paul Robeson, W.E.B. Du Bois, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Roy Wilkins, Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, Madam C.J. Walker, Ella Fitzgerald, Marian Anderson, Barbara Jordan, Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Mary McLeod Bethune, John Johnson, and Althea Gibson.
